Doctors Hospital of Manteca’s Amy Mou Named a Tenet Hero
Aug 1, 2023Manteca, Calif. – Doctors Hospital of Manteca announced today that Amy Mou, day shift charge nurse, has been honored by Tenet Healthcare as part of its annual recognition program. Amy has been named a Tenet Hero for her outstanding contributions in 2022.
The Tenet Heroes program celebrates those individuals who make a meaningful impact within their communities and go above and beyond their daily responsibilities. Nominated by leadership and/or fellow colleagues, Tenet Heroes exemplify the company’s core values and commitment to its mission. This year, Tenet is recognizing 73 individuals or teams companywide.
Amy was recognized as a Tenet Hero for many reasons including for her kindness, her work ethic and her commitment to our patients.
“Amy is a true inspiration who continues to make a positive and meaningful impact in our community each day,” said Eleze Armstrong, CEO of Doctors Hospital of Manteca. “We are deeply grateful to Amy for her dedication, selfless efforts, and commitment to our mission of making sure we provide quality, compassionate care in the communities we serve, which Amy fully embodies.”
Amy was the primary charge nurse on the DHM COVID-19 unit for nearly three years. She maintained the highest standards of infection control while she and our team cared for COVID-19 patients. During the height of the pandemic, when visitors were not allowed in the hospital, Amy advocated for our patients by getting creative with visitations. She would often set up patients to video chat with their family members or help them find the right window from the outside of the building so they could see their loved ones.
When Amy isn’t at the hospital, she volunteers her time with local animal shelters by participating in an overnight dog program. She brings dogs home for the weekend, wraps them in love, and then takes them back to the shelter on Tuesdays. This helps the dogs with anxiety and gives them additional socialization. Amy says the visits not only give the dogs a break from the shelter, but she benefits from them as well.
Whether it’s her patients, her colleagues or the dogs at local shelters, Amy is always looking out for others. She leads by example and truly goes the extra mile in everything she does.
