Manteca, Calif. – When your new arrival is on the way, you can count on Doctors Hospital of Manteca for personalized care in a comfortable, family-friendly environment.

The nurses and physicians at Doctors Hospital of Manteca are here to meet all of your needs and guide you through a personalized labor and delivery plan. Through labor, delivery and recovery, Doctors Hospital of Manteca is focused on caring for your needs with the personalized care you deserve during such a special time in your life. The hospital offers a selection of parenting and birth classes, and tours of the birth center.

Patient experience and safety are top priorities for Doctors Hospital of Manteca. With that in mind, the hospital offers a less invasive method of pain management available to you during labor called Nitrous Oxide, more commonly known as laughing gas. This can help reduce the anxiety and pain associated with labor without untoward effects on length of labor or the safety of your baby.

Smart Care California recently honored Doctors Hospital of Manteca with the 2018 Achievement Award for meeting or exceeding the Healthy People 2020 Goal for low-risk, first-birth Cesarean section deliveries. To receive this award, hospitals must achieve a C-section rate of 23.9 percent or lower for low-risk, first-birth deliveries.

During their stay, new parents will learn about the safest way for their baby to sleep to prevent sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), which is the unexplained death – usually during sleep – of a seemingly healthy baby. Doctors Hospital of Manteca utilizes HALO SleepSack swaddle wearable blankets, which replace traditional blankets to model a safe, blanket-free alternative for parents. The goal is to support and promote safe sleep education for parents, and allow nursing staff to teach safe sleep through demonstration while in the hospital. The key to this program’s efficacy is based on the fact that studies consistently indicate that what parents see nurses do in the hospital is retained better than simply being told what to do.

To help moms stay comfortable after long labor hours, Doctors Hospital of Manteca recently implemented new Quiet Time. Between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. daily, the hospital offers moms uninterrupted time for herself and her newborn. Visitors and sibling visitation are advised to come before or after these hours. Significant others are welcome to stay.

Doctors Hospital of Manteca also offers Mommy Munchies for new moms who deliver at the hospital. The boxes are filled with goodies and are readily available for moms needing a snack during their stay.

As a new mom, you may need some guidance or reassurance after you give birth. Doctors Hospital of Manteca’s experienced nurses or lactation consultants are here for you, ready to answer your questions and provide assistance. Or, you may simply want private time with your baby. Your preference is our preference. We are here for you.

Doctors Hospital of Manteca also offers support groups for mothers in the community, regardless of where they delivered. Breastfeeding Support Group is for all mothers. An IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) holds these support groups to provide tips, answer questions, and provide new and veteran mothers the support needed to breastfeed. Mothers can share their successes as well as support each other through the challenges.

Maternal Emotional Support Group is also for all moms, especially those who are at risk or are struggling and experiencing distress such as isolation, depression, anxiety, fearful thoughts, insomnia, trauma, and other difficulties during pregnancy or postpartum. Support groups provide a safe and caring place for connection and recovery.

These classes are free but registration is required. Please call (209) 823-3111 for more information or go to the classes and events page.
